Alien Invasion

This week, a special edition ready for World Philosophy Day on 21st November 2020.

It explores the relationship between humans and non-human animals via an alien invasion scenario. Some of the aliens are farmers, who want to breed us to make us more flavoursome and succulent. Some are hunters who want to preserve our man-made habitat and then kill us for sport during a limited season. Some are just settlers who wish us no harm but need space for their own cities, so ours will have to go.

Will the reasons we gave the aliens not to hunt us, farm us or take our habitat still hold true when we think about our own relationship to the natural world? It’s all inย this PDF:
